National child benefit supplement (NCBS) 2012 – 2013

 The amounts of national child benefit supplement (NCBS) for June 2012 to July 2013 are:

  •  $2,177 ($184.41 per month) for the first child
  • $1,926 ($160.50 per month) for the second child; and
  • $1,832 ($152.66 per month) for each additional child

If you income is higher than $24,863, the NCBS will be reduced. The reduction is calculated as follows:

If you are on social assistance, the NCBS may affect the amount of your social assistance payments. Many provinces and territories will consider the NCBS you get as income and will adjust your basic social assistance by this amount.
